Lo Prado is a commune in Santiago, Chile, over the Mapocho River. Its name comes from the old Lo Prado estate, subdivided after the colonial era. The commune was created in 1981 by Law 17879, by dividing the commune of Pudahuel and has six sectors: Lo Prado, Las Rejas, Los Navíos, Teniente Merino, San Daniel and La Estrella. The population in 2017 was 138,054 inhabitants. Popular landmarks in the commune are San Daniel park and Lo Prado metro station.
